  General Information

Non NHS Services

Services not covered by the NHS may be charged for in accordance with the fees recommended by the British Medical Association – details are displayed in the waiting room.

Those services which are chargeable include private certificates, reports for private health insurance claims and other non-NHS reports such as accident reports or holiday cancellations.

Fees may also be charged for examinations for special purposes such as HGV and PSV licences, elderly fitness to drive, fitness to undertake certain sports, fitness to travel and pre-employment medicals and disabled badges.

You can download our fees list here: Hope House Fees

Certain adult immunisations and travel immunisations are also chargeable (the leaflet is available from reception or you can download it by clicking HERE ).

Details of primary medical services available in the area may be obtained from Bath and North East Somerset PCT, Ash House, St. Martin’s Hospital, Bath. Tel: 01225 831800

If you think you will require an examination with a GP and would like a chaperone to be present, please forewarn the receptionist when making the appointment. This is because a member of staff who has received specific training to be a chaperone to a GP will need to be available; otherwise there is a risk that your appointment may need to be re arranged.

Non-Attendance of Appointments

Please inform the surgery if you are unable to attend your appointment, so it can be offered to another patient. Thank you.

Accessible Information

Do you have any communication needs? If so, we want to know so that we can assist.

Hope House Surgery are committed to ensuring all our patients' needs are met and are happy to arrange for information to be made available in alternative formats such as larger print and/or 'easy read' leaflets.

For patients who are hard of hearing we have a portable hearing loop which is on all of the time. We are also able to offer patients access to a generic email address which can be used for contacting the surgery regarding non-urgent matters. We also recommend patients sign up to Online Access so that they can request medication or book an appointment at any time of the day without needing to call or visit the surgery.

Assistance dogs are welcome in our surgery but unfortunately, all other pets are not permitted.

Should any of the above apply to you, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will be happy to help you!
